Ongoing (II): Recruitment and data collection ongoing
The Münster Neuroimaging Cohort includes the NAE study as a fundamental part, focusing on the neurogenetics of affective disorders. These disorders typically manifest as severe and chronic, affecting both social and neuropsychological functions. The cohort utilizes neuroscience research to uncover mechanisms influencing the progression of these diseases, making extensive longitudinal studies critical. Supported by the "Innovative Medical Research" program (IMF) through project KO121806, the cohort investigates how changes in brain structure and function correlate with the clinical outcomes of affective disorders, while also considering a range of risk and protective factors. Central to the Münster Neuroimaging Cohort is the commitment to detailed and long-term monitoring, recognizing the influence of life events on the nervous system. The initiative aims to capture a comprehensive outline of numerous confounding factors and their varying impacts on the course of these disorders.
