Description

MARS is a completed multi-center, naturalistic, and prospective observation study of treatment outcomes in acutely depressed inpatients treated with antidepressants. Aim of the study was to identify factors that are predictive of treatment outcome to define homogenous subgroups of patients. After admission to the hospital, patients were weekly rated with the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (version 21 items) and gave a weekly blood sample until treament week 6. From treatment week 6 to treatment week 12/16 assessments and blood samling took place bi-weekly. Conduction time of the study was from May, 1995 until Dec, 2015.
